This course is a continuation of Basic Arabic I; therefore it is designed for students who have already learned the alphabet. Basic Arabic II will include basic texts, vocabulary, grammar and comprehension passages from a college textbook. By the end of the course, the student should be able to construct basic sentences manually and orally and to comprehend simple written and spoken sentences in Modern Standard Arabic. I hope that the student gains an understanding of basic grammar guidelines of Arabic and the differences between Arabic grammar and English grammar.

Occasionally quizzes may be administered to gauge your progress and the efficacy of my curriculum. I may also ask students to pronounce sounds individually.

If you have any questions or comments, please email me. If you will be absent or late, please notify me in advance so I won't be worried. If you are having difficulties, discuss supplemental learning options with me immediately.
